Taktsang Monastery is a breathtaking temple complex perched on a 3,120 meters high cliff in Paro Valley. It is considered one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Bhutan, and can be reached through a challenging, yet rewarding hike. The monastery was built in 1692, and it is believed that Guru Rinpoche, who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, meditated in the cave for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours.
