Located in Maracay, Panteón de los Héroes is a mausoleum built to honor the heroes of the Venezuelan War of Independence. Designed by Carlos Raúl Villanueva, the same architect who designed La Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, this mausoleum features elegant modernist architecture and houses the remains of 71 famous military figures of Venezuelan history.
