Uganda Martyrs' Day is observed on June 3rd each year to remember the 45 young men who were killed between 1885 and 1887 for their religious beliefs. The event takes place at the Uganda Martyrs' Shrine in Namugongo, where pilgrims from various countries come to pay homage and participate in religious ceremonies.
