Ismoil Somoni Peak, at 7,495 meters (24,590 ft), is the highest peak in Tajikistan and the third highest in the former Soviet Union after Mount Elbrus and Kangchenjunga. The peak was named after Ismail Samani, the founder of the Samanid Dynasty. Climbing this challenging and remote peak offers a true adventure for experienced mountaineers. The peak is located in the Pamir Mountains and is part of the famous 'Snow Leopard' challenge which involves climbing all five peaks above 7,000 meters in the former Soviet Union.
