Jabal al-Zawiya is a mountainous region in northwestern Syria, known for its rich history and natural beauty. It is home to numerous ancient ruins, such as the Dead Cities, abandoned Roman and Byzantine settlements scattered throughout the region. Climbing and hiking opportunities abound in Jabal al-Zawiya, with trails taking visitors through lush valleys, past ancient ruins, and up to scenic viewpoints. However, due to the volatile situation in Syria, visiting this area is not currently recommended for tourists.
