Stara Planina, also known as the Balkan Mountains, is the longest mountain range in Serbia and Bulgaria. The highest peak in Serbia, Midžor (2,169 meters), offers a challenging and rewarding climb. The mountain is also home to several nature reserves and rare flora and fauna species.
