Located on Kizhi Island in Lake Onega, Kizhi Pogost is a UNESCO World Heritage site and an open-air museum showcasing the stunning wooden architecture of Russia. The centerpiece of the museum is the 18th-century Church of the Transfiguration, a wooden masterpiece built without any nails. The museum also includes various traditional wooden structures, such as chapels, houses, and mills, brought from other parts of Karelia and restored on the island.
