Qoyllur Riti, also known as the Snow Star Festival, is a unique and vibrant event that occurs in May or June in the high Andean region near Cusco. Combining Catholic and Incan traditions, pilgrims make a challenging mountain trek to the Sinakara Valley for a three-day festival of ritual dance and music, offerings to mountain deities, and a solemn procession up to the Qoyllur Riti glacier.
