Founded in 1586, Erdene Zuu is the oldest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. This architecturally stunning complex has 108 stupas and various temples, reflecting the rich history and religious heritage of the country. It played a huge role in the development of Buddhism in Mongolia and is an excellent example of 16th-century Buddhist architecture.
