Mount Elgon is an extinct volcano straddling the Kenya-Uganda border, with the highest peak reaching 4,321 meters (14,177 ft). The mountain offers various trekking routes, taking climbers through diverse landscapes, including bamboo forests, moorlands, and ancient lava tubes. The Sasa and Piswa routes are particularly popular for their scenic views and challenging ascents.
