Kirkjubøur is a historical village located in the southern part of the island of Streymoy. It was the cultural and religious center of the Faroe Islands during the Middle Ages. Today, visitors can explore the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral (built around 1300) and St. Olav's Church (built around 1250) as well as the Kirkjubøargarður, a 900-year-old farmhouse which is believed to be the oldest wooden house still inhabited in the world.
