The Grand Bara Desert is a vast and picturesque expanse of sand and salt flats, covering an area of about 15,000 square kilometers. This arid landscape is the result of volcanic activity and is known for its unique flora and fauna, including the endangered African Wild Ass. The desert is also the site of the annual Djibouti International Marathon, which takes place in the heart of the desert.
