The Kinshasa Symphony Orchestra is one of the only symphony orchestras in sub-Saharan Africa, based in the Congo's vibrant capital city. The orchestra was founded in 1994 by Armand Diangienda, a self-taught musician, and has grown considerably since then. The group of volunteer musicians brings classical music to the heart of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, promoting social cohesion and a sense of unity.
