The Okapi Wildlife Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage site that protects the habitat of the okapi, a unique and elusive forest giraffe species found only in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Reserve also serves as a conservation center for the Mbuti and Efe Pygmy peoples' traditional and cultural heritage.
