Parinacota Volcano is a symmetrical, snow-capped stratovolcano standing at 20,997 feet (6,400 meters) above sea level, located in Lauca National Park in the Andes of Chile. Its summit is right on the border with Bolivia. The climb is considered moderately difficult, with the need for glacier travel skills, crampons, and ice axes, as well as good physical fitness and acclimatization. The best season for climbing is from November to March. The pristine alpine landscape, numerous lagoons, and abundant wildlife make this climb a true Andean gem.
