Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America, is located in the Andes mountain range in Argentina, near the border with Chile. At 22,837 feet (6,959 meters), it is the second highest peak in the Seven Summits after Mount Everest. Aconcagua is a popular peak for climbers with a variety of routes, with the most popular being the Normal Route and the Polish Traverse. It is also one of the highest mountains in the world that can be climbed with little to no technical climbing skills, though it requires a good level of fitness and acclimatization.
