Chacaltaya Ski Resort is the world's highest ski resort, located at an altitude of 17,388 feet (5,300 meters) above sea level. Once a popular skiing destination, the resort sadly saw a decline in recent years due to climate change and glacier shrinkage which affected its ski runs. Still, Chacaltaya offers a unique experience for skiing enthusiasts who want to visit a piece of skiing history, enjoy breathtaking views of the Cordillera Real mountain range, and take part in other adventure activities nearby, such as hiking and mountaineering.
