Zangbeto is a traditional Vodun ritual practiced in southern Benin. It involves the mysterious appearance of masked individuals known as Zangbetos who emerge at night from their temples to maintain order in their communities. The Zangbeto festival takes place annually and involves a variety of lively music and dance performances. The Zangbetos move among the crowds and sometimes perform extraordinary feats seemingly defying the laws of physics, which are attributed to their spiritual powers.
